Ford is cutting the price of the 2026 F-150 Lightning by up to $4,000, varying by trim level. The entry-level STX trim will start at $63,345, while the more expensive Flash edition will see a $4,000 price cut, now priced at $65,995. The Lariat trim will get a $2,000 price reduction, while the Platinum edition will remain unchanged at $84,995. This comes as the $7,500 EV tax credit expired at the end of September. Ford has also announced plans to release an affordable midsize all-electric pickup with a starting price of around $30,000 in 2027, built on the company's upcoming Ford Universal EV Platform. As EV-related tax incentives expire, manufacturers are finding ways to deliver value to consumers, such as Tesla's introduction of the Model 3 and Model Y 'Standard' editions with reduced luxury features. Ford and GM have both walked back programs that would have enabled dealers to offer a $7,500 tax credit on EV leases after the federal subsidies expired.
