Asus’ latest gaming NUC mini PC is powered by a Ryzen X3D chip

Asus, the electronics company, has launched a new gaming NUC (Next Unit of Computing) mini PC that is powered by a Ryzen X3D chip, a powerful laptop processor. The new ROG NUC series is Asus' attempt to replace Intel's gaming-focused NUC Extreme, but without the discrete graphics option. The latest variant of the ROG NUC, called the ROG Magic 9 Mini, features the Ryzen 9 9955HX3D processor, which is typically found in high-performance workstation laptops and mini PCs. This is a departure from the traditional Intel-powered NUC devices, as it marks the first time Asus has used an AMD processor in its NUC lineup. The ROG NUC 2025 is currently available only in China, where it is paired with an Nvidia RTX 5070 GPU, 16GB of DDR5-5600 memory, and a 1TB SSD, and is priced at around $2,100 USD. It remains to be seen if this AMD-powered NUC will be released in other countries, as Asus has cited the "economic climate" as a factor in availability and pricing.
