Google has overhauled its smart home app to feature Gemini
Google has unveiled a new look for its Google Home app, which will begin rolling out globally today. The redesign focuses on Gemini for Home, a feature that will replace the Google Assistant role in smart devices and promises a more conversational way to interact with the company's AI. The app now features a Home tab, an Activity tab, and an Automations tab, as well as a persistent AI-powered "Ask Home" option in the header. While some features will require a Google Home Premium subscription, the app has been rebuilt for increased reliability and performance, with faster loading times and reduced crashes.
