For its next trick, Quantic Dream is trying to compete with League of Legends and Dota

Quantic Dream, the studio behind Heavy Rain and Detroit: Become Human, is venturing into a new territory with its upcoming game, Spellcasters Chronicles. This 3 vs. 3 MOBA (Multiplayer Online Battle Arena) game features a third-person perspective and a unique magic-based gameplay. The game offers several innovative features, such as the ability for characters to fly freely, use spells to alter the environment, and summon powerful titans to turn the tide of the battle. Spellcasters Chronicles also has a strategic deckbuilding element, as players can select their spells and summons before each match. The game is set in a world where gods are no more, and mages with the ability to harness the Source will shape the future. Quantic Dream is taking a community-driven approach, where the narrative will evolve based on the outcomes of matches, and seasonal decisions will impact the gameplay, lore, and map meta. Spellcasters Chronicles is set to launch on consoles with cross-play support in 2026, and a closed beta on Steam is planned for later this year.
