Apple Intelligence’s ChatGPT integration will use GPT-5 starting with iOS 26
Apple Intelligence's ChatGPT integration will use the latest GPT-5 AI model, but it won't be available until the release of iOS 26, iPadOS 26, and macOS Tahoe 26. Currently, the integration uses the GPT-4o model. Apple has not specified the exact release date for the upcoming software updates, but they are expected to launch sometime in the fall. While GPT-5 is now available to all ChatGPT users, Apple has not confirmed if it will be included in the developer or public betas of the upcoming updates. OpenAI reports that ChatGPT is used by around 700 million people every week.
