Two months ago, life was busy but normal for the Martinez family in the coastal city of Huntington Beach, California. Now the father has been deported to Mexico, the Navy airman has been deployed to the Middle East as part of the war in Iran, and the college business major is trying to hold herself and her family together. â(It) doesnât feel like family,â Ana Martinez said of her life now. âIt feels that weâve been torn apart.â Theyâve been caught up in two key policies of the Trump administration this year: immigration enforcement and the war on Iran.
