Notepad's AI writing features will soon run locally on Copilot+ PCs

Microsoft is rolling out new features for Notepad, Paint, and Snipping Tool in the latest Windows Insider beta builds. Notepad's AI writing tools, including summarize, write, and rewrite options, will soon run locally on CoPilot+ PCs, eliminating the need for a subscription. This allows CoPilot+ PC owners to access these features without additional costs. Microsoft is also adding the ability to save projects in Paint, similar to Adobe, and an opacity slider for the pencil and brush tools. Additionally, Snipping Tool is getting a new quick markup option, allowing users to scribble on screenshots before saving them. These updates are currently available in the Canary and Dev Insider channels for Windows Insider beta testers.
