Unity discloses a years-old security exploit and urges developers to update their games

Unity has disclosed a major security vulnerability affecting games built using versions of its development tool dating back to 2017. While there is no evidence of exploitation or impact on users, Unity has urged developers to take immediate action to update their games. Valve, Microsoft, Google, and Meta have all taken steps to secure their platforms and protect end users. Numerous developers, including Obsidian, Marvel Snap, No Rest for the Wicked, Ingress, Fate/Grand Order, and Atlus, have already taken actions to update their games in response to the disclosure. The vulnerability could potentially allow an adversary to execute code and exfiltrate confidential information from the machine on which the affected application is running.
