A twice-deported illegal immigrant from El Salvador has been charged with rape and abduction in Northern Virginia, according to the Department of Homeland Security, which is urging Fairfax County officials to honor an ICE detainer and transfer him into federal custody. Juan Arevalo Mendez, 46, was arrested June 30 in Prince William County on charges of rape and abduction with intent to sexually assault stemming from an alleged attack in September 2025, according to DHS.
