Over three decades later, Nintendo remembers the Virtual Boy exists

In a surprising move, Nintendo has acknowledged the existence of the Virtual Boy, a 3D gaming console that was launched in 1995 and quickly discontinued due to poor sales and health concerns. After more than 30 years, Nintendo has announced that players will need to purchase either a $100 replica Switch dock or a $25 cardboard sleeve to play the 3D re-releases of Virtual Boy games. The Virtual Boy, which was known for its uncomfortable and disorienting 3D experience, has been largely forgotten by Nintendo and the gaming community. However, this latest announcement suggests that the company may be looking to revive interest in the ill-fated console. While the news has sparked some nostalgia among Virtual Boy enthusiasts, the high price tag of the required accessories may deter many casual gamers from revisiting the console's library of games.
