What is Click To Do? Meet Microsoft’s next AI headliner for Windows PCs

Microsoft's latest AI feature, "Click To Do," aims to provide users with a convenient way to access contextual AI actions on their Windows PCs. This feature, which is available on Copilot+ PCs, allows users to activate it by holding down the Windows key and clicking the left mouse button or using the Windows key + Q shortcut. Once activated, Click To Do takes a screenshot of the user's screen and highlights all selectable text and images, enabling them to perform various actions, such as summarizing text, creating a bulleted list, or rewriting the text in different tones. Some actions, like "Search the web" and "Ask Copilot," send data to Microsoft's servers for processing, while most actions are performed locally on the user's PC. Click To Do also includes AI-powered image tools, such as blurring the background, erasing objects, and removing backgrounds, which are typically scattered across different Windows applications. Additionally, Microsoft plans to integrate a Copilot prompt box and the ability to detect tables on the screen for easy integration with Microsoft Excel. While Click To Do is an interesting concept, some users may prefer to stick with the traditional copy-and-paste method or use the built-in Snipping Tool for capturing and manipulating screenshots. However, Microsoft's move away from the privacy-criticized Windows Recall feature towards Click To Do is seen as a smart decision, and the feature's future potential is promising.
