Wikimedia wants to make it easier for you and AI developers to search through its data

Wikimedia Foundation is making it easier for AI developers to search through its Wikidata platform. The German chapter of Wikimedia, Wikimedia Deutschland, has created a new AI-friendly database that converts the 19 million entries in Wikidata into vectors, capturing the context and meaning around each entry. This vectorized format allows AI systems to better access the information and its context, making it more accessible to smaller AI developers who may not have the resources of tech giants. The goal is to level the playing field and enable AI systems to better reflect niche topics not widely represented on the internet. The new database is currently available to developers, and the team is waiting for feedback before updating it with information added in the last year.
