Euronext to Replace Teleperformance on Benchmark CAC 40 Index

Euronext NV, the Paris-based stock exchange operator, will replace Teleperformance SE, a French multinational call center company, on the benchmark CAC 40 index. This change reflects the contrasting performance of the two companies. Euronext, the operator of several European stock exchanges, has seen its business grow, with the company benefiting from the surge in trading activity during the pandemic. In contrast, Teleperformance, a major provider of outsourced customer service and other business process services, has faced challenges due to the economic slowdown. The inclusion of Euronext in the CAC 40 index, which tracks the 40 largest publicly traded companies in France, is seen as a recognition of the exchange operator's increasing importance in the French and European financial markets. The removal of Teleperformance, on the other hand, signals the company's relative decline in the country's business landscape. The changes to the CAC 40 index will take effect on June 19, 2023.
