Woochi The Wayfarer Teaser Gives Off Witcher Vibes

Nexon Games has announced an upcoming title, "Woochi the Wayfarer," based on the classic Korean novel "The Tale of Jeon Woochi." The game is set during the Joseon era and follows Woochi, a man who uses his powers to fight injustice and trick the corrupt. The announcement was accompanied by a teaser trailer that showcases the game's visuals and combat system, which may remind some viewers of "The Witcher" series. The trailer features a shaman named Myoan performing a violent sacrificial rite with a snake, before Woochi confronts her and engages in a battle that ends with Myoan declaring, "Proclaim it to Heaven, we rise again." Woochi the Wayfarer is being developed by LoreVault Studio using Unreal Engine 5, and the game's music will be composed by Jung Jae-il, known for his work on "Squid Game" and "Parasite." The development team is currently consulting experts on Korean literature and traditional music, as well as scouting locations to recreate the game's period setting. The game is set to be released on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC, though Nexon Games has not yet announced a release date.
