Mario Kart World Sales Race Ahead, Almost Tied With Switch 2
In its Q1 financial results, Nintendo reported selling 8.67 million units, with Mario Kart World accounting for 5.63 million of those sales, nearly as many as the Switch 2 console itself. The game's high attach rate is attributed to a bundle deal that included it with the console. While Mario Kart 8 Deluxe remains Nintendo's best-selling game, Mario Kart World has a long way to go. Despite competition from other upcoming titles, the game's longevity is expected to be similar to its predecessor. Nintendo's overall sales during the quarter reached $3.8 billion, with operating profit growing 4% to $378 million. The company remains optimistic, predicting 15 million Switch 2 console sales by March 2026, despite economic challenges.
