Nintendo reportedly wants to build 25 million Switch 2s by March 2026
Nintendo reportedly aims to manufacture 25 million units of the Switch 2 console by March 2026, according to Bloomberg's sources. The company believes the console will continue its strong sales performance through the holiday season, potentially exceeding its initial forecast of 15 million units sold in the first fiscal year. If sales meet expectations, Nintendo could sell around 20 million Switch 2 units in the current fiscal year. The production goal of 25 million units would allow the company to meet demand and have enough inventory for the next fiscal year. The Switch 2 is expected to outperform the original Switch, which was the fastest-selling console of all time. Despite concerns over tariffs, Switch 2 sales in the US are already outpacing the original console's performance during the same timeframe. Nintendo has also reported selling 8.67 million Switch 2 games, along with 24.4 million games designed for the original Switch, thanks to the new console's backward compatibility.
