NIS America has announced that Ys X: Proud Nordics, a new entry in the Ys RPG series, will be released on Nintendo Switch 2 and PC in 2026. The game is a standalone story that takes place after Ys II and features a new storyline, mechanics, and a dungeon. The game follows the protagonist Adol Christin and a sailor named Karja as they deal with the "looming threat of an undying horde known as the Griegr." The game will also include naval combat, a first for the Ys franchise. Ys X: Proud Nordics is a definitive edition of the game, which originally launched in Japan in 2023 and was brought to the West in 2024 for PC, PS4, PS5, and Nintendo Switch. The game will be available on Steam, Epic Games Store, and GOG for PC players. For those who can't wait, the original Ys X: Nordics is currently on sale for $30 on PS5 and $35 on Switch.
