Tile trackers reportedly have a security flaw that can let stalkers track your location

The article reports that researchers have discovered major security flaws in Tile tracking tags, which could allow both the company itself and tech-savvy stalkers to track a user's location. The issue lies in how Tile tags transmit data, as the information is not encrypted and can be easily intercepted by anyone with a radio frequency scanner. The researchers also found that the rotating ID generated by Tile can be reliably predicted from past codes, creating a risk of systemic surveillance. The researchers reached out to Tile's parent company, Life360, to report the findings, but the company stopped communicating with them in February, although it did say it has made some security improvements.
