Qualcomm has launched the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, its latest flagship mobile platform. The new SoC promises improved performance, efficiency, and AI capabilities compared to its predecessor. Qualcomm claims the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 is the "world's faster mobile system-on-a-chip," featuring a 20% performance boost and 35% power efficiency improvement in its third-generation Oryon CPU. The platform also offers lightning-fast app launches and switching, on-device AI processing, and the ability to record in Advanced Professional Video (APV) codec for professional-level video production. Several smartphone brands, including Samsung, OnePlus, and Xiaomi, have already committed to using the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 in their upcoming flagship devices.
