Bose is yanking key features from its SoundTouch speakers

Bose is discontinuing support for the cloud-based features on its SoundTouch speakers on February 18th, 2026. This means that access to integrated music services, multi-room playback, and the SoundTouch app will no longer be available. However, Bluetooth, AUX, and HDMI functionality will still work for standalone SoundTouch speakers and home theater products. Bose cites evolving technology and the inability to sustain the cloud infrastructure as reasons for this decision. The company also states that it will not offer a replacement app or platform, and security updates for SoundTouch products will cease. Many users are unhappy with this change, expressing concern over the loss of functionality and the significant investment they have made in these products.
