Google's Veo 3.1 is better at generating videos from images

Google has released an update to its Veo AI video generation model, called Veo 3.1, which aims to improve its ability to adhere to prompts and convert images into videos. The new model offers better "prompt adherence" and the ability to generate audio simultaneously with the video, a feature not available in the previous version, Veo 3. Veo 3.1 is now powering Google's Flow video editor, which includes a new "Frame to Video" feature that allows users to upload a first and last frame, and the model generates the video in-between. While the videos generated with Veo 3.1 still have an uncanny quality, the company's efforts to make the model more useful for video professionals are seen as a positive step.
