Apple's M6 MacBook Pro generation will reportedly offer touchscreens
Apple is reportedly planning to introduce touchscreen MacBook Pro models in late 2026 or early 2027, powered by the upcoming M6 chip. The laptops, codenamed K114 and K116, will feature OLED screens, a reinforced hinge and screen hardware, and a hole-punch design for the camera, moving away from the current notch. The touchscreen capability will be integrated alongside a traditional trackpad and keyboard, blurring the line between MacBooks and iPads. This marks a significant shift from the late Steve Jobs' staunch opposition to touchscreen laptops, as most other computer companies have offered such models for about a decade. The co-existence of touch-enabled MacBooks and iPads will be an interesting development to observe.
