Atari’s resurrecting the Intellivision, one of its biggest competitors in the ‘80s

Atari, in collaboration with Plaion, has announced the Intellivision Sprint, a retro console revival of the Intellivision, a major competitor to Atari's 2600 in the 1980s. The Sprint features the same unique controllers as the original, but they are now wireless and rechargeable. The console has a similar design to the original Intellivision, with a gold and black case and a wood-grain panel. It connects to a TV using a single HDMI cable and comes with 45 built-in classic titles, including Boulder Dash and Astrosmash, as well as a collection of sports games. While it lacks support for cartridges, it has USB-A ports that can be used to play additional titles or to connect original Intellivision controllers with an adapter. The Intellivision Sprint is available for preorder starting today for $149.99 and is expected to ship on December 5th, 2025.
