Nintendo is bringing back the Virtual Boy as a Switch and Switch 2 accessory
Nintendo is bringing back the Virtual Boy as an accessory for the Nintendo Switch and Switch 2. The company will release a $100 plastic replica of the mid-90s tabletop system, as well as a $25 cardboard version, for Switch Online members in the US and Canada. These accessories will allow users to play a selection of 14 stereoscopic 3D Virtual Boy games, including Mario's Tennis, Galactic Pinball, Teleroboxer, Space Invaders, and Tetris. The original Virtual Boy was a commercial failure, with only 22 games ever released before Nintendo discontinued it in 1996, just a year after its launch. The company hopes the latest version of the accessory won't cause too many headaches for players.
