Meta Lab pop-ups will let you try on the company's new smart glasses for yourself
Meta is opening temporary retail locations called "Meta Labs" where customers can try on and demo the company's new smart glasses, the Meta Ray-Ban Display, as well as the Meta Neural Band controller. These new retail spaces will be available in Las Vegas, Los Angeles, New York, and the existing Meta Store location in Burlingame, California. The demand for in-person demos of these products has been strong, with many major cities already booking appointments through mid-October. Meta believes that the addition of a display to their smart glasses, the Ray-Ban Meta, is a key factor driving this interest. The company also plans to test selling the smart glasses through vending machines, similar to Snap's Spectacles. These Meta Labs will be the only official places, aside from Ray-Ban, Verizon, Best Buy, and LensCrafters stores, where customers can try out Meta's new wearable technology. While it remains to be seen if the demand for demos will translate into actual sales, the positive buzz generated by Meta's recent Connect event has clearly piqued people's interest in the company's latest products.
