The latest Roku update adds AI-powered voice control and better search
Roku has announced a major software update for its streaming devices, introducing several new features. The update includes AI-powered voice control, which allows users to ask contextual questions about movies, actors, and shows, with the answers displayed on-screen. The search function has also been improved, with a search bar added to the live TV page and more accurate information on which streaming platform to use based on active subscriptions and user preferences. Additionally, the Roku Sports page will now track live scores and allow users to keep tabs on multiple games at once. The Bluetooth Headphone Mode is being rolled out to more devices, and the Roku app is getting an overhaul with new shortcuts and the ability to rate shows and movies directly within the app. Philips Ambilight technology is also now available on Roku TVs in the US, automatically changing the ambient lighting based on the on-screen content.
