Steven Spielberg has started to peel back the curtain on his upcoming sci-fi blockbuster, Disclosure Day, which he says is inspired by the question of whether aliens are here with us on Earth. The legendary Hollywood director, who has form when it comes to making movies about aliens, told Empire magazine that making Disclosure Day has helped him resolve that very question. “If I could know, I would want to know,” Spielberg said. “Who would not want to know?” “There are also great questions on what kind of social and theological disruption would occur if such an event was disclosed beyond anyone’s reasonable doubts,” he continued. Spielberg is behind the likes of alien movie masterpieces, such as 1977’s Close Encounters Of The Third Kind, 1982’s E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial, and 2005’s War of the Worlds. “I have seven solid decades of a vast personal interest in what lies beyond our atmosphere, in the cosmos, and what is within our atmosphere right here on planet Earth,” he said. “The question has always remained for me: are we alone on our own planet?
