New HDMI Specification and Authentic HDMI Products Drive High-Performance PC Ecosystem

The HDMI Licensing Administrator, Inc. has launched the new HDMI 2.2 Specification, which supports a blazing 96Gbps bandwidth and next-gen HDMI Fixed Rate Link technology. This new specification provides optimal audio and video for a wide range of device applications, supporting up to 12K@120 and 16K@60 resolutions, as well as uncompressed full chroma formats such as 8K@60/4:4:4 and 4K@240/4:4:4 at 10-bit and 12-bit color. To ensure seamless compatibility and reliable performance, the HDMI Licensing Administrator recommends that consumers and resellers source products from licensed HDMI Adopters or authorized resellers, and look for the official HDMI Cable Certification Label on packaging. The new "Ultra96" feature name will help identify products that support the maximum 96Gbps bandwidth of the HDMI 2.2 Specification, which require the use of the Ultra96 HDMI Cable. The HDMI Cable Certification Program now offers three choices: the Premium High Speed HDMI Cable, the Ultra High Speed HDMI Cable, and the upcoming Ultra96 HDMI Cable, each with its own bandwidth and feature support. Consumers and system designers are encouraged to choose the cable that best suits their needs for the ultimate audio and video experience.
