Acer’s latest Chromebook Plus laptop joins Google’s AI wave

Acer has announced a new Chromebook Plus Spin 514, which is the first Acer Chromebook to feature MediaTek's Kompanio Ultra 910 chip. This chip, paired with MediaTek's NPU 890, provides up to 50 TOPS of AI performance, promising improved performance for AI-powered features in ChromeOS. The Chromebook Plus Spin 514 offers a 14-inch Gorilla Glass touchscreen, with options for either a 1920x1200 or a sharper 2880x1800 display. It has a convertible design, allowing it to be used in various modes. Acer claims up to 17 hours of battery life for the device. The Chromebook Plus Spin 514 will be available this month, with the 1920x1200 touchscreen model starting at $699.99 and the higher-tier 2880x1800 model starting at $749.99. The device is Acer's latest entry into the growing market of Chromebooks with on-device AI capabilities.
