Meta tests letting anyone rate Community Notes

Meta is testing a new feature for its Community Notes system, which was introduced earlier this year as a replacement for its fact-checking program. The new test will allow anyone to rate a Community Note as helpful or not, as well as request a note for a post that they believe is incorrect or needs additional context. The test also includes a new system for notifying users when a post they have interacted with receives a Community Note. While the Community Notes system has over 70,000 contributors and 15,000 notes have been written, only 6% have been published so far. The system has been criticized for not offering the same ability to counter misinformation as fact-checking. Meta's shift towards a more right-wing approach in the wake of Trump's reelection has also raised concerns about the platform's ability to effectively address misinformation.
