However, this incident was incorrectly portrayed as a widespread warning to all 2.5 billion Gmail users. Google emphasized that while phishers are constantly looking for ways to infiltrate inboxes, its protections block more than 99.9% of such attempts. The company also encouraged users to set up secure password alternatives, such as passkeys, for maximum protection.
