Acer’s Nitro V 16S packs big RTX gaming power into a slim frame

Acer has unveiled the Nitro V 16S, a powerful yet slim gaming laptop, at the IFA tech conference in Berlin. The Nitro V 16S features a sleek design, measuring just 19.9mm thin and weighing 4.64 pounds, similar to the Razer Blade 16. Under the hood, the laptop packs an Intel Core i9 12900H processor and an Nvidia GeForce RTX 5070 GPU, along with up to 32GB of RAM and 2TB of fast storage. Acer has equipped the Nitro V 16S with a dual-fan, quad-intake, and quad-exhaust cooling system to maintain smooth performance during demanding gaming or workloads. The Nitro V 16S offers a choice of two 16-inch display options: a 2560x1600 or a 1920x1200 panel, both with a 180Hz refresh rate and full sRGB color coverage. The laptop also includes Acer's NitroSense software for monitoring temperatures, adjusting fan speeds, and customizing the RGB keyboard lighting. The Acer Nitro V 16S is expected to launch in October with a starting price of $999.99, making it a compelling option for those seeking a powerful yet portable gaming experience.
