Google's latest Pixel drop brings the Material 3 Expressive UI to older devices

Google has rolled out a September Pixel drop, bringing the Material 3 Expressive user interface to its older Pixel devices, including the Pixel 6 and Pixel Tablet. This update allows users to customize their device's lock screen wallpaper with "Live Effects" and provides more control over contact cards. Additionally, the Quick Settings pane has been redesigned for easier use. The Pixel Buds Pro 2 will receive new software features, including Adaptive Audio, which adjusts the earbuds' output based on the user's surroundings, and Loud Noise Protection, which limits the volume to preserve hearing. Users can also accept or dismiss calls and text messages using head gestures. Furthermore, Google has introduced LE Audio Auracast, which enables simultaneous pairing of two Bluetooth headphones to a single Android device, allowing users to share audio with friends. The Quick Share menu has been redesigned to make it easier to start audio broadcasts. Google has also added new AI-powered writing tools to Gboard, allowing users to edit their messages for formality, expressiveness, or conciseness, as well as correct spelling and grammar errors. Lastly, the company has launched an "Androidify" experience that allows users to create their own Android bot using AI.
