Bose overhauls the QuietComfort Ultra Headphones with lossless audio and longer battery life

Bose has unveiled the second-generation QuietComfort Ultra Headphones, which feature several significant upgrades. The headphones now offer lossless audio playback over a wired USB-C connection, providing 16-bit/44.1kHz or 48kHz audio quality. Bose has also added a new "Cinema" mode to its Immersive Audio spatial audio feature, which aims to create a wider soundstage and enhanced dialogue clarity for movies, TV shows, and other audio content. The active noise cancellation (ANC) has been improved, with smoother transitions between noise-canceling levels in Aware mode. Users can now also disable ANC completely or manually adjust it. Battery life has been extended to 30 hours with ANC enabled or up to 45 hours with it turned off, and the headphones can be charged during use. Lastly, the design has been updated with a polished metal headband and two new color options: Driftwood Sand and Midnight Violet. The price remains $449, the same as the previous version, and the new QuietComfort Ultra Headphones are available for preorder now, with general availability scheduled for October 2.
