Sony is rolling out a PlayStation parental controls mobile app
Sony has launched a new PlayStation Family app, a mobile extension of its on-console parental controls. The app offers a "thoughtfully guided" onboarding process and allows parents to set playtime limits, view activity reports, manage spending, and create content filters. Additionally, parents can receive real-time notifications of their child's gameplay and approve or deny requests for extra playtime or access to restricted games. While this is a welcome addition, Sony is late to the game, as both Nintendo and Microsoft have had similar parental control apps for years. The Xbox Family Settings app launched over five years ago, and Nintendo's parental controls came even earlier, alongside the original Switch's arrival. The PlayStation Family app is now rolling out globally, and users can access it through the iOS or Android app stores.
