Firefox support for Windows 7 PCs gets extended once again

Mozilla has extended its support for Firefox on older versions of Windows, including Windows 7, 8, and 8.1, until March 24th, 2026. This is an additional six-month extension beyond the previous commitment of support until August 19th, 2025. Users of these older Windows operating systems can continue to use Firefox, but they will need to use the Firefox Old ESR (Extended Support Release) branch, which is currently on version 115. Mozilla plans to review the decision to continue supporting older Windows versions in February 2026 and will then announce whether to continue or drop the support permanently.
