Intel’s chip chief is now Johnson, as Holthaus departs

Intel has announced changes in its leadership team, with Jim Johnson being named the new head of the Client Computing Group (CCG). Johnson, a 40-year veteran at Intel, will be responsible for the PC and edge ecosystems. The former co-CEO and head of Intel Products, Michelle Johnston Holthaus, has departed the company, though she will serve as a strategic adviser in the coming months. Additionally, Kevork Kechichian has been appointed as the new head of Intel's Data Center Group (DCG), joining the company from Arm. Naga Chandrasekaran, the executive vice president and chief technology and operations officer of Intel Foundry, will also expand his role to include Foundry Services. These changes come amid ongoing management shakeups at Intel, which saw the departure of former CEO Pat Gelsinger and the appointment of Lip-Bu Tan as a prominent leader in the EDA industry. The promotions and new hires are expected to bolster Intel's efforts in the PC, edge, and data center markets, as well as its foundry business.
