Instagram finally has an iPad app 15 years after it first launched

Instagram, the popular social media platform, has finally released a native app for the iPad after 15 years since its initial launch in 2010. The iPad app features a redesigned interface, taking advantage of the larger screen real estate. The app opens directly into a feed of Reels, and users can now organize posts and Reels in a chronological list, a feature that was previously available on the standard app. The iPad app also includes enhanced features such as comments on Reels appearing alongside the videos, and the DMs page integrating the inbox and the actual chat, similar to the web client of Messenger. This move is significant as the Instagram head, Adam Mosseri, had previously stated that the iPad market was not big enough to prioritize the development of a dedicated app.
