Hue's Secure video doorbell can turn on Hue lights when someone comes to the door
Signify, the parent company of Hue, has launched its first video doorbell called the Hue Secure. The doorbell features a 2K fisheye camera, 24-hour video history for free, and compatibility with Google Home, Samsung SmartThings, and Hue's own app. It will also support Apple Home and Matter later this year. The unique feature of the Hue Secure is its ability to work with Hue lights, allowing it to automatically turn on the lights when someone approaches the door. However, the doorbell does not work with third-party chimes, and users will need to purchase the Hue Smart Chime separately. The Hue Secure will be available in North America, Europe, and the UK for $170 (£140) in October. Signify also plans to release a new 2K wired camera in Europe, priced at €180 or €200 with a stand.
