Nvidia dominates AMD with 94% of desktop GPU market

Nvidia dominates the desktop GPU market, holding a 94% share as of the second quarter of 2025, according to a report by Jon Peddie Research. AMD's market share has been declining, from 12% in Q2 2024 to just 6% currently, despite the company's efforts to release competitive consumer and pro-level graphics cards. Intel's presence in the discrete desktop GPU market is effectively zero. While AMD is doing better on the CPU side, with gains against Intel, the graphics card market remains largely dominated by Nvidia. The report suggests that unless AMD makes a significant shift, such as expanding its ROCm support to Windows, it is likely to remain a secondary player in the graphics card market for the foreseeable future.
