SpaceX is about to launch Starship for its 10th test flight
SpaceX's Starship rocket is scheduled for its 10th flight test as soon as this evening, with a launch window opening at 7:30PM ET (6:30PM CT). The weather conditions are only 45% favorable, and the company has backup opportunities on August 25 and 26. This flight follows a series of failures during the seventh, eighth, and ninth test flights, as well as a recent explosion during a static fire test. If successful, the test will see Starship deploy eight dummy Starlink satellites and perform experiments focused on enabling its upper stage to return to the launch site, though it will not actually return this time. The test is expected to last a little over an hour and end with a splashdown in the Indian Ocean.
